Our Story & Why We Do This Work: Empowered Fulfillment Therapy Podcast (Episode 1)

We’re really glad you’re here! In today’s podcast episode, Taylor Kravitz (the owner of Empowered Fulfillment Therapy) shared why she started the practice and why we do the work we do.

I started Empowered Fulfillment Therapy as a solo practice. I am a couples and sex therapist & that was the focus of my work with clients when I started the practice. Over time, I found that I was getting inquiries from more people than I could serve. At the same time, I discovered a passion for business building and marketing. Hiring a clinician felt like the perfect combination of serving the needs of the community, getting to focus on my interests, and supporting clinicians in having a positive work environment.

Unfortunately, many therapists are over-worked and underpaid. I wanted to create a practice where this could be different. I truly believe that when therapists can have manageable caseloads and are compensated well, they can care for themselves better and also thus, do much better work with clients. I was discouraged by hearing about clients having negative therapy experiences. I know therapists deeply care, so it felt hard to know that wasn’t always translating to clients. I wondered if therapists being treated with more compassion and their needs being better met in the workplace could translate to clients having better experiences in therapy too.

So I set out to explore this and hired the first clinician here, Eva Firth (who is amazing and is still here today!). The business grew from there and I’m proud to say that we get to do work we are really passionate about. We strive to provide quality mental health support, sex positive care, and affirming approaches that can help clients of all identities, including clients who are queer, trans, ethically non-monogamous, kinky, neurodivergent, people of color, disabled or otherwise often misunderstood.

Our team of compassionate, dedicated, diverse, and collaborative clinicians is just so incredible. I’m honored to be the steward of this practice and I hope that we can have a positive impact on your life, even if that’s just through you reading a blog post or us sending you referrals.
